The Open Door is thrilled to announce our participation in Edinburgh Kiltwalk 2024!

Are you ready to lace up your trainers and put your best foot forward?

We're inviting you to join us for an unforgettable day of camaraderie, fun, and fundraising! What is the Edinburgh Kiltwalk? It’s a unique charity event that brings together people from all walks of life to raise funds for deserving causes. You can choose from three walking routes to suit your abilities - from a leisurely stroll to a challenging hike.

Location: Edinburgh, Scotland – precise starting locations for each walking route are on the Kiltwalk website
Why Walk for The Open Door?
​
We’re dedicated to making a difference by bringing care, love and laughter to the lives of older people, and those who face social isolation in our community.
However, the ongoing cost-of-living crisis and significant cuts in public sector budgets threaten to undermine everything we've worked so hard to build over the past four decades.

Help us to raise £15,000 to support our Day Services
​

Every step you take and every penny you raise in the Kiltwalk will directly support our vital services - empowering us to keep transforming lives in our community!

Raise £100 and we can provide delicious, nutritious hot meals for our Day Service members for a week, or activity resources for a month

Raise £250 and we can deliver five group activities to improve mobility and mental health

Raise £500 and we can run a fun outing for our Day Service members

How Can You Get Involved?
​
Register to Walk:
​
Visit the Edinburgh Kiltwalk website - https://thekiltwalk.co.uk/events/edinburgh - and sign up – for a small fee - to walk and raise money for ‘The Open Door Edinburgh’.
Select your preferred route:

Mighty Stride – 21 Miles - £20 sign up

Big Stroll – 11 miles - £20 sign up
-
Wee Walk – 5 miles - £12.50 sign up for adults / £6.50 for children

Once you’ve registered for the event and selected ‘The Open Door Edinburgh’ as your charity, the online fundraising platform - JustGiving – will automatically create a Kiltwalk online fundraising page for you. Simply share the link with friends, family and colleagues, ask them to donate, and you’re off to a flying start!

Spread the Word:
Share our participation in the Edinburgh Kiltwalk with your friends, family, and colleagues via word of mouth, email, WhatsApp and social media. Encourage them to join our team of walkers, or to support your fundraising efforts with donations.
